2009 Aston Martin DBS
Posted by admin on Mar 30, 2009

There are luxury cars and there are sports cars; and surprisingly few that can be called both. Mostly this is the result of luxury items being a detriment to a vehicle’s weight. This explains the spartan interior of a Lotus or the plastic-like cheapness that dogged Italian sports cars for many years. Besides being one of the most iconic cars in the world, the Aston Martin DBS manages to straddle the line between both characteristics and is truly worthy of being called a luxury sports car.
What is essentially a $100,000 option to the DB9, the $270,000 DBS offers more than just a gussied up face to the roughly 300 owners lucky enough to own one. Althought the DBS does share its lightweight aluminum chassis with the DB9, the heart of the DBS beats with a 6.0 liter V12 engine that produces, quite angrily, 510 horsepower. This power translates into a 0-60 mph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 191. Not that it should matter with this sort of car, but a byproduct of this power is a 12 mpg rating. However, unlike other high-end sports cars that scream their speed out to the world, the DBS projects a grownup, almost conservative British visage that is extremely attractive without being obnoxious about it.

2010 Hennessey Camaro Boasts 705 HP Credentials, $109,000 Price Tag

Assuming the 2010 Chevy Camaro ever makes it to production, Hennessey is ready with a stonkin’ 705 HP supercharged upgrade kit ready to hoover up $109,000 of your dollars.
No matter how the new Camaro ends up, that’s a huge pile of tithing for a mullet-mobile. If you’re happy with a monster supercharged mill, carbon brakes, carbon fiber bits and pieces and epic badassery, it may be worth it, but otherwise, wow.

2010 Jaguar XFR with 510HP
Posted by admin on Jan 10, 2009

These are the first official photographs of Jaguar’s long-awaited XFR sports sedan that is due to make its worldwide debut at this week’s Detroit motor show. The first pics of the car made their initial ‘premiere’ on a video shown on the Polish website Moto.Pl. Aimed squarely at the BMW M5, Audi RS6 and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, this wild cat comes with a supercharged V8 engine delivering 510HP and a more aggressive design in and out with details that hint but do not shout at the car’s performance.
At the heart of the new XFR we find an all new 5.0-litre AJ-V8 Gen III engine fitted with a sixth-generation, Roots-type twin vortex system (TVS) supercharger. It produces an output of 510HP between 6,000-6,500 rpm and 625Nm (461 lb.ft) of torque from 2,500-5,500 rpm. Compared to its supercharged 4.2-litre V8 predecessor, power has increased by 23 percent and torque has increased by 12 percent
